Over the week we will host some of the finest and most distinguished historians, academics, authors and writers, from Polly Toynbee, Antonia Fraser and Andrea Wulf, to Peter Frankopan, Alan Titchmarsh and Ben Macintyre, in five fabulous venues:
HISCOX TENT
This is our largest tent, the home for our most popular events. This year the Hiscox Tent will be hosting an incredible range of speakers as well as returning favourites such as the Histrionics comedy panel show with stars including Charlie Higson and Al Murray. It may seat 750 but it feels like you are in a warm and intimate theatre – with 749 of your best friends.
EVELYN PARTNERS TENT
The Evelyn Partners tent seats 350 people and is the place to really get to know the speakers and their subjects. Here we host panel discussions and a wide array of stand-alone talks. Both indoor tents are equipped with state-of-the-art sound and audio-visual equipment as well as “air conditioning” – the sides of the tents fold back beautifully.
IPGL OUTDOOR STAGE
Our outdoor stage has unlimited seating capacity where you can hear some of the most brilliant speakers as part of your entrance ticket. At this beautiful venue, you can drink and eat while you watch and listen, either at one of the many picnic tables provided or on the rising bank that offers a stunning natural amphitheatre. This is the perfect place for the whole family to hang out.
STORAGE WORKS SPEAKER’S CORNER
If you enjoyed one of our star turns in the tents or simply couldn’t get a ticket, here is the ‘secret’ rendezvous where speakers love to come and sit and chew the fat in a more informal setting with eighty or so seats and standing room, where questions and answers are the order of the day.
STOVE TENT
As ever we try to provide new and exciting spaces for you to enjoy. New for 2023, is the Stove Tent, an intimate100 seater in the round with a central wood-burning stove for cosy later-night events including a smattering of music and story-telling, also included in your entrance ticket.
