The aim of the Chalke Valley History Festival for Schools is to excite, inspire and enthuse pupils about history. It is a very important part of our festival week and for three days (Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26, Thursday 27 June) we provide a wide range of curriculum-based subjects, drawing on leading historians, inspirational communicators, and the very best living historians around.
This year we are covering the Vikings through to the Age of Chivalry and the Tudors and on to the Second World War. There is a huge amount for pupils to see and do – and which helps to bring the past alive in a unique and exciting way.
Whether you’re a teacher, parent or grandparent you can nominate a class or school to win tickets and all transport costs.
The competition is now closed and winners announced above.
We are offering 3 prizes which include up to 35 children and full transport costs for either Wednesday 26 June or Thursday 27 June.
Terms: Standard competition rules apply. Strictly one nomination per reader. Competition open to UK residents aged 18 or over. Tickets will only be issued for 2019 and can’t be held over to 2020. Schools have to be UK based. All children have to be accompanied by the appropriate number of staff.
Entries will be judged by the CVHF board and a Daily Mail representative.
Winners will be advised on 22 May

We are conscious that for some schools, budgets for school trips are very tight. The Chalke Valley History Trust has a limited amount of funding available to help as many schools as possible to experience the Festival. For further information please contact us on 01722 780793 or email@example.com
