James Holland’s favourite walk south of Broad Chalke
CHALKE WALK – SOUTH FROM BROAD CHALKE
This is an 8-mile round walk from Broad Chalke, heading south and including the OX Drove, Roman road (Ackling Dyke), woods and Church Bottom, the site of the Chalke Valley History Festival.
Allow 3 – 3.5 hours. There is the Queen’s Head pub and Chalke Valley Stores next to one another at the heart of the village.
